Consistent with the Lord’s command to make disciples of all nations – The Great Commission – we at Hosensack Church endeavor to do all we can to bring the good news of the gospel to all people. In all our teaching and programming we stress the obligation of every believer to share the gospel with his or her neighbors, friends, relatives, and coworkers. That is where the best and most effective evangelism takes place, person to person, as one shares how Christ has impacted their life.

In addition to personal witnessing encounters, we have an annual Vacation Bible School open free of charge to everyone who desires to attend, and we have made significant efforts in recent years to better publicize this event. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,” and we rejoice in the opportunity to impress little minds and hearts with the timeless truths of God’s Word. In addition, our weekly Junior Church on Sunday mornings and Kid’s Klub on Wednesday nights during the school year endeavor to provide learning and fellowship opportunities for young people throughout the year.

Our congregation maintains a strong involvement and commitment to the Zionsville Food Pantry, an outreach of six churches in the area designed to provide food to the needy of our community. Members of the congregation donate food and help with the twice monthly distributions. Housed at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Old Zionsville, the Food Pantry has had a meaningful impact to those facing food insecurity since its founding in 2008. It is a member of the Second Harvest network of food pantries.

Hosensack Church also has a strong foreign missions program. We help to support a class of young people in the nation of Honduras. This class provides instruction in the Christian faith, but also helps to meet some of the social and personal needs of the children involved as well as their families. Our support of EC missionaries serving in Honduras has been especially helpful during the COVID pandemic when much help was made available to many people in desperate circumstances. In addition to these efforts, our church makes a special dedicated benevolent gift every month to a specific need or a worthy service organization in the Lehigh Valley.
